Chili Poker Review
Chili Poker is definitely the ‘hottest’ poker site online! It’s a well established poker room which launched in 2006 and has a very dedicated player base. It’s a fun brand but professional with it, featuring easy to use software, a helpful customer support team and one of the best poker communities there is (I’ll talk more about that in a bit). Chili sits on the iPoker network.
First time deposit poker bonus
In today’s poker market, the poker rooms are all vying for your business and will pay you a bonus to join them. Chili Poker is no exception to this rule, and right now they’re offering a very attractive first time deposit poker bonus of up to $1000, matching what you put down by up to 200%. Most poker rooms only match 100% so this is significantly better than average and is an easy way to build up your online poker bankroll.
Later in this review I will cover more about the reward scheme at Chili, but here’s how the bonus itself is released – you earn FPPs (Frequent Player Points) whenever you play. Each time you accrue 40 FPPs, you gain $1 of the bonus. You have a very generous 90 days to rake through the bonus.
Chili Poker games and stakes
Chili features Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7 Card Stud and 5 Card poker games. If you’re looking for a change, there is a great range of casino games, just be careful not to gamble your poker bankroll away!
Chili Poker caters for poker players at all levels. Cash games start at just $0.01/$0.02 but go right up to a whopping $200/$400 for the high-stakes players, and plenty of choices between.
Sit n gos (SNGs) are similarly well-catered for, from the ultra-micros of $0.03 buyins, to the big guns of $5,200 games.
MTT player? Choose from $0.06 to the high stakes of $530. Freeroll tournaments run daily.
Chili Poker reward programme
Chili Poker’s reward scheme is called the VIP club. Each time you play, you earn FPPs and the more you earn the higher status you attain, from ‘White Card’ (0 FPPs a month) right up to the ‘Ultimate Card’ (100,000 FPPs per month).
Once you’ve built up a nice stack of FPPs you can use them in the Chili Poker ‘Hot Shop’. You can cash them in for a range of products, from tournament buyins to books and electronic items.
Remember, the more you play, the more points you get. The more points you get, the better the prizes!
In cash games, the FPPs will depend on the rake in the pot, from 0.05 FPPs to 14, depending also on what level you are in the programme.
Sit N Gos will earn 15-30 FPPs per $1 of tournament fee, again depending on your VIP Club status.
Chili Poker player traffic
We all like a busy poker room – if you choose Chili you’ll have no problems at all in this regard. It’s part of the iPoker network. A poker network basically means that a group of poker rooms share (or ‘pool’) poker players across their games. What this means for you is busier games and less waiting time.
Now the iPoker network is the third busiest site/network in the world so you can be sure of quickly-filling and popular games at Chili.
The low and micro stakes are particularly busy and their SNGs fill up very quickly indeed.
Chili Poker software
Chili Poker supports both Windows and Mac users. The Chili Poker branding is fun, modern and attractive. There’s a couple of features I’d like to draw your attention to – firstly a useful feature called ‘Quick Seat’ – rather than locate a particular game in the lobby, you can just use this to start playing. You simply choose the format, stakes and number of players, and it will open up a suitable table. No waiting, no struggling to find the right game – a very useful feature.
The other feature I like is the ability to colour-code your opponents. This is a great addition to making notes on other poker players. You can choose from eight different colours – this is always a good idea to do as it means you can see at a glance what kind of player they are, based on how you coded them previously.
Chili Poker Is Compatible With
I also like how there is a ‘spotlight’ on each player when it’s their turn, making it easier to follow the action on the table.
If you’re multi-tabling you can opt to cascade or tile the tables and you can play up to 16 tables at once, giving you plenty of scope to increase your hourly rate.
The software is well designed for multi-tabling players – you can take the table right down to the minimum size without losing any clarity.
Cool features of Chili Poker
Without a doubt, the ‘unique selling point’ of Chili Poker is ‘Chili Connect’. What they’ve done here is to bring social networking to poker, and it works beautifully. It’s already compatible with popular sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and lets you publish your performance from the poker software.
Not only that but you can connect and network with other Chili Poker players. Poker is a competitive and social game and Chili Connect embraces this. You can create challenges, sidebets, last-longer bets and exchange shares in tournaments.
It’s new, exciting and it makes Chili Poker a personal favourite of mine. You really feel like you’re part of a community and you’ll look forward even more to logging in and playing.
Another good feature is the Chili Poker ‘school’ which is on their website. This has a wealth of information and tips that new and established players alike will find helpful in improving their game, covering everything from starting hands to bankroll management.
Chili Poker banking
If you’re ready to play you can deposit money to your Chili Poker account quickly and easily. You can use the following deposit methods: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, MoneyBookers, Online Bank Transfer, Ukash, Neteller, and Ticket Premium. The minimum deposit is $20.
Chili Poker customer support
Chili Poker takes its customer support seriously, which is demonstrated by offering a live chat facility is you need answers to your questions or concerns. Alternatively you can send an email. The support team are quick to answer queries and are polite and professional.
